Africa Unit Study

We are embarking on a study of the continent of Africa this year, focusing on Morocco, Ghana, Sudan, Tanzania, and South Africa.  Our study basically consists of books, videos and activities.  As a mission-focused family, missions are woven into the study using Window on the World, The Gospel According to TL and Daisy, and Walk Around the World.  I’ll also be adding in the 10 Days in Africa game.  My kids enjoy the 10 Days in… series!

I’m using this study with all of my kids – grade 7, grade 5, and grade 1.  We will rotate this study with our history study and hopefully we will be able to finish it in one school year.  Each country study is arranged in the order I plan for us to go through it.  Our geography unit studies are done together.  The books are read aloud/discuss aloud books rather than books I give my child to read on his own.
